Kung fu for yu
Not much going on in the world of kung fu right now, but here are a few tidbits on some forthcoming films. IGN Filmforce have a feature on Jet Li's latest, Unleashed (formerly Danny The Dog, formerly that film with Jet Li and Morgan Freeman. Check it out here.
Meanwhile Jet's contemporary Donnie Yen is in upcoming crime actioner Sha Po Liang, which now as a trailer available here. Being a realplayer file the quality is awful, but stick it out for a tantalising few seconds of Donnie facing off against the legendary Sammo Hung.
Donnie is also in Tsui Hark's forthcoming period epic Seven Swords, which will now not be opening Cannes because it won't be finished in time. It does now have a rather fetching poster though.
And finally author, commentarian, martial artist, screenwriter, producer, occasional actor and all-around nice bloke Bey Logan is interviewed over at Dragon's Den UK. Bey talks about ongoing projects like Dragon Squad starring Sammo, Michael Biehn and Maggie Q, and period films called Sword Searchers and Three Kingdoms: Resurrection Of The Dragon. Bey also outlines his dream project, a version of the Wong Fei-hung legend starring Lau Kar-leung, Andy On and Mark Dacascos as the bad guy. This would probably never happen but if it did it would be the most awesome thing in the history of awesome!
Oh, and here's a nice gallery of Shaw Brothers posters.
