Kung fu news

Good morning kung fu lovers, and welcome to the news.

Chow Yun-fat is by all accounts now confirmed as starring in the sequels to Pirates Of The Caribbean. MonkeyPeaches have a photo of the heroic bloodshed legend sporting his pirate beard and 'slightly bulkier' physique. Chow Yun-fat and Johnny Depp on screen together? If coolness can cause anomalies in the fabric of space/time, this one's going to be the size of a black hole. A very cool one.

Xinhuanet brings news that maverick director Tsui Hark's latest film Seven Swords Leave Mt. Heaven (now just called Seven Swords, truncation fans!) has been invited to open the Cannes film festival. This is encouraging news for what is hoped will be Tsui's return to form after years of disappointments like Black Mask II and Knock Off. Set pictures from the movie can be found at MonkeyPeaches (again).
